  I stayed in my sisters apartment the week of the 11th September. The weather was superb, the apartment is lovely so beautifully appointed and has great views of the sea. There is so much to do 'on the spot' that you don't need to wander far, but there are good walks. Daddyhole Plain is lovely and can lead you all the way into Torquay with the greatest of views. There is a coastguard tower there that you are welcome to climb up and see the whole bay. Plenty of locals around walking their dogs and willing to chat. The 'Little Theatre' is only a few minutes away from the Osborne and is really fun. The indoor pool at the complex is lovely and warm and that week I found it quiet. There are so many other facilities available - not being particularly sporty I didn't use! The position of the Osborne is lovely, its away from the hustle and bustle of Torquay but only a few minutes drive to get there or go the other way to Babbacombe and the lovely Shaldon. The beach below the Osborne is so good with interesting rocks. There is a Brasserie at the hotel that serves food and drinks on the terrace and a lovely restaurant. There is a cafe' just above Meadfoot beach that serves great bacon sandwiches, the food I saw other people eating smelled and looked very good. There is a special atmosphere to the area, it seems frequented by people who know they are onto a good thing. I would go again
